Can I Sell with XP Loaded (Revised)

As I have the boxed upgrade, can I sell just xp without
the computer, and will the person who purchases it have
any trouble registering it?

Yes you can sell it but you must also provide the product that was upgraded (and that noone should use). If you type eula.txt into Start Run (on the old computer) you can read exactly what you can and can't do.

They can't sell it. There should be no problem at all if over 120 days old and a telephone call if not.

I think that you can sell it individually, but only to a
person who currently has a computer with a previous
version of Windows installed.

Send me a note to (e-mail address removed) as I might be
interested in buying it. One of my Win98 computers needs
an upgrade.

You should give the purchaser a letter confirming that you have
uninstalled this copy of XP from whatever computer it was installed
on.

HUH? You have to sell the qualifying media along with the Upgrade XP CD?
The buyer ends up agreeing to the same EULA and the seller did, but can't
not resell it to someone else? Sounds like more BS to me. The question is:
"Who is doing the BSing, David or MS?" If anyone has a copy of the Upgrade
EULA, I'm curious to find out the answer.

HUH? If you buy an upgrade XP CD from Walmart, can they "*ONLY*" sell it to
someone with a previous version of Windows, or do they just take anybodies
cash?

Provided you remove the software from the machine you retain (eg format
its disk) you can sell on a retail Upgrade copy . When it comes to
install in the new machine, he will need to Activate it (not register
his name). When it comes to activation, if it is more than 120 days
since you last did it, he will find it will go through on the net just
like first time. If not, he will have to phone a toll-free number that
will be given, to explain and swap one long number for another to check
back as you type it in
