Selling OEM copies of XP Pro

I have built two systems and along with the hardware have purchased two OEM
copies of Win XP Pro. I wish to sell both to get Vista. If I sell these
copies (which need to be activated over the phone) will the purchaser have
issues getting it registered with MS?

There are a couple of issues at work here.........
first one would be are you planning to purchase an "upgrade" edition of
Vista? which needs the XP Pro installed in order to upgrade..........and
therefore the OEM XP Pro cannot legally be used on another machine.
Or are you buying a full version of Vista and therefore removing that OEM XP
Pro from the machine before installing Vista???
2nd ..its an OEM version of XP Pro which by its EULA is tied to the system
it was originally installed on and cannot be moved to another system...which
is why it cost less
3rd..are you going to sell to a buyer who is willing to lie to MS and say
his installation is a "Repair" installation because he had to replace a
"broken" motherboard.
??????????????

I find it repugnant that your assumptions and ‘tone’ of your writing assumes
that I wish to break the law; or cause the person who would purchase a copy
from me to break the law.
I asked the question specifically for this reason. If your information is
correct I appreciate it. But if you would, please refrain from assuming
things referring to my character.

Have those two OEM licenses been installed? If so, the only way to
legitimately sell them would be to also sell the computers on which
they're installed.

It would be better to say one is reinstalling Windows because IE7
screwed everything up.

Assumptions need to be made, since you did not give the pertinent info
necessary to answer your question.

Actually, point #3 could have been construed as a little weighted....but
not really.

And yes, his answers were correct. OEM XP is tied to the first PC it is
installed on and can not be transfered to a different PC. You can sell the
entire PC w/XP on it, but not OEM XP itself.

Once an OEM version of XP has been installed it's tied by the license
agreement to that first computer. It cannot be transferred to another
computer and cannot be sold to another party unless the computer on which it
is installed is sold with it. If the OS has never been installed then yes
you can sell it.
