You can search through a batch of files located in a command folder and
you can search for John and then search for Joe, Bill or Bob. There is
no real mechanism that I know to search for "this" OR "that."
Yes you can search multiple files located in a common folder. You can
search for John and then Joe, but there is no practical way to search for
John or Joe.
Thanks for your response. Why do you say "common folder?" Can't I use the
Windows search for files and search my entire hard drive and subfolders?
Sorry to hear there is no "OR".
It is possible. You use search within Word and the advanced Search will let
you use the "OR" condition. It will also let you choose multiple folders and
subfolders and will even let you use wildcards.
You are talking about searching for text in a file in order to do
something with that file. I thought you wanted to find text in
multiple files in order to do something with that text.
I am sorry for misleading you.
