Can I save 2003 PowerPoint slides in .jpg format?

Older versions of PowerPoint allowed auser to save individual slides in .gif
and .jpg formats. I can't figure out how to do that with the Office 2003
PowerPoint. All I can get is MDI or TIFF images from the Document Image
Writer or web pages with multiple .gifs that show only parts of the page.
How can I save a 2003 PowerPoint slide as a .jgf or .gif image?

"File", "Save as", change the "Save as type" dropdown to JPG (scroll down
until you see it). You will be asked if you want to save all slides or just
the one that is open.

Sorry, Bill, but those options are not available in the dropdown window (I
know that's the way it worked with my prior versions). The only format
options available are: .ppt (for 3 versions of PowerPoint), .mht or .mhtm;
..htm or .html; and .pot. That's it. I'm running the latest update, so if
I'm supposed to have more I don't know why I don't.

You might try re-running setup and check to see if there are graphics
filters that didn't get loaded on your machine. You should have many more
options for saving that what you show......

I tried as you suggested; did the set-up over from scratch. No change. I
still have only six options in the Save As scroll down (3 for .ppt versions,
1 for .htm/.html , 1for .mht/.mhtml and 1 for .pot). I am able to save
individual Power Point items to a .jpg file using the right-click Save As
Picture procedure. In that case I have six options, .jpg, .png, .tif, .bmp,
..wmf and .emf. (no .gif in that list either). My About page says Microsoft
Office PowerPoint 2003 (11.6361.6408) SP1, Part of Microsoft Office Small
Business Edition 2003. Did I get short-changed because it's part of Small
Business Edition?

Let's step back a second... You are sure you are scrolling the box all the
way down? I ask because I just noticed that you are saying you don't have
RTF (outline) either. If this is the case, it isn't the filters. A detect
and repair might help, but I am not sure if it will.

(And the version shouldn't matter in this case. Those items are there in all
versions. If they weren't, we would have heard about it before.:) )

Well, I feel reallly dumb! You're right Kathy, I didn't SCROLL the drop down
window; I merely clicked on it and was looking at the first six items. Sorry
to be a bother, but thanks for helping out a dummy.

Are you scrolling down the window of File Types? It sounds like you are not,
based on the ones your say that you see.

Don't feel so dumb. If I had a nickel for every time someone didn't
scroll that drop down list, I would own Microsoft right about now.

Don't feel dumb! The only dumb thing would have been if you hadn't asked.

I'm really kind of glad that it was this... I was out of ideas on what could
possibly cause a machine to recognize the graphics when they were
individually clicked, but not during save as.

please :) )- We are always here.
