Ive also tried ordering the Beta, but everytime I attempt a
registration (I have an existing valid passport) the process jumps to
the MS home page, says 'Unable to process request' and gives no other
helpful info.

Anybody else experienced this? Im trying to register from the UK...

I'm in the UK and I ordered it no problem - not much help I know, but
at least you now know it does work sometimes.
