Can I re-map keys on my keyboard?

I have a Toshiba laptop.
In order to press the home button, I HAVE to press the 'Function'
button + another button.

This is infuriating me!!
I use the Home and End buttons as the time!

Is there a way for me to re-map the keys?

I was sure it would be possible to re-map keys?
Is it *just* these keys that can't be re-mapped?
