Can I link directly from an excel sheet to a contact in outlook?

I am builing a company contact database in excel to manage contact with
client companies. I want to enter the individuals details in outlook and
then put a hyperlink in my excel database so that I can jump directly to the
contact (saves duplicating the data storage) is this possible?

I know I can export contact data to excel and visa versa however I want a
live linkage if possible.

I also want to avoid using access as I don't have a full Office install on
all PCs
