Can I keep an autoshape tool selected?

For example, if I want to draw multiple lines on a page using the line tool
is there a way to just draw, draw, draw instead of going back to get the tool
after each "draw".
Thanks,

Thanks,

In Word 2003 or earlier, you can double-click the line, arrow, rectange, or
oval tool buttons on the Drawing toolbar (but not the other shapes that are
only in the AutoShapes gallery) to keep that tool active until you press
Esc.

In Word 2007, you can right-click any AutoShape in the Insert > Shape
gallery and choose "Lock Drawing Mode" to keep that tool active until you
press Esc.
