Can I just delete the 'reverse installation' files?

I installed XP-pro from a WIN98 installation, and it provided files
and an option to reverse the installation.

At this point I won' t do that, so can I get rid of those files? It's
only about 7.5 Meg, but if I won't do that, why keep the directory?

c:\$win_nt$.~BT

Also, if I do that, can I just delete the directory, or is there an
administrative option to do the same thing, and disable the 'reverse
installation' option.

Thanx, and Happy Thanksgiving

If you're absolutely sure you will not need to revert to
windows 98, open add/remove programs from the control panel.
There should be an option to uninstall XP.
Select that, and one of the options should be to perform the
cleanup.
