Can I install XP Home in a seperate partition?

I bought my Dell Optiplex with XP Home already installed
(OEM). I made a serious error not too long ago and
installed XP Pro...the software was pirated and the product
key is being rejected and Word does not function. What I
want to do is use my OEM software CD and reinstall XP Home
and then uninstall the pirated Pro OS.
I cannot install updates anymore to the XP Pro installation
because my product key is being rejected. I hope someone
will advise me. Thank you.

You will need to clean install XP Home. Installing Home on another partition
would just cause more confusion. Backup your information, run F.A.S.T and
then do the clean install.
You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
