Im trying to lock down an XP standalone desktop as much as possible
with one major problem
At the moment a user can click the Start Button, navigate up to
Programs and double click Programs and it lanches an explorer window
which points to:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu\Programs
this is a security issue as it the allows the user to navigate the C
Drive.
I dont want to use NTFS file permissions as I would like this to work
on a Win98 client as well.
I dont want to disable mouse double clicks so i was hoping there is a
way i can hide Programs from Start Menu, i can hide Documents,
Settings, Search, Help etc using policies but i cant figure out a way
to hide Programs.
The end result would be the user could only launch the icons on the
desktop I allow, then use the Start Menu solely to Log off or
Shutdown.
Any Suggestions?
TIA
