Can I hide all my desktop icons with Active Desktop off?

You can right click the desktop, select Arange icons by,
and remove the check next to show desktop icons.

Yes, it's realy. I use Enterra Icon Keeper Deluxe
(http://www.enterra-soft.com ). Only Deluxe version!

The main feature of IK Deluxe is an easy creation and change of
desktop profiles (you can hide all desktop icons in profile). Sets of
displayed layouts of icons, their position on the desktop are
profiled. Functionality is built into the desktop context menu.

Create a text file in Notepad as follows:



[Shell]

Command=2

IconFile=explorer.exe,3

[Taskbar]

Command=ToggleDesktop



Save it as Show Desktop.scf then drag it to the Quick launch bar.

Also note that you can do this with a keyboard shortcut: the
combination of the Windows key + D or the Windows key + M.
