I only recently realised that you can have two monitors with a laptop!
What a life saver: I just can't work with one screen!

Erm... I'm getting greedy: is there any chance of getting 3 screens!
I can't see why not.
Having multiple screens as far as I can see doesn't have any extra load

on the CPU.

Is there a splitting device for the monitor?
Or maybe a USB solution?

Thanks.

You need a third video output port, and I doubt if there is one that
would work via USB. Throughput would be too slow, for one thing.

You might try a Google search for PC Card video adapters. There seems
to be a few, but most of these seem to be for TV input rather than
monitor output.

Good luck

Actually, this is pretty easy. You can buy a gadget (actually there are a couple of them) that lets you do this. One plugs into your external monitor output and splits it; the other plugs into a USB port and gives you an additional monitor. Your laptop's graphic card has to be powerful enough to use it...just for example, a Thinkpad T30 won't work but a Thinkpad T40 will.

Matrox makes the splitter gadget; sorry, don't remember who makes the USB
one but with Google and patience you can find it. (I'm not at the machine
where I stored all that data.) PC Connection sells the Marox one if that
helps. About $200 as I recall.
