Can I "force" incompatible applications to run?

I was able to run the same app in one of the beta versions, after
getting a "potential compatibility issue" warning.

In the retail version, it just says the application is blocked due to
a compatibility issue. Is there a way around this so I can run it
despite windows' opinion on its compatibility?

Running Vista ultimate with with a local admin account, and with UAC
turned off.

Thanks.

Gawd I hope so. I had PC Anywhere 12 working just fine on my upgrade i386
install until stoopid MS updates blocked the client function. The host
function is still running in the tray and I can connect to it. It DID work
for the first 2 days...

More information on the particular application would help.

If it's genuinely blocked then try it from the command line with a -x
option to extract files. Then run the setup from the extracted files.

Funny enough, I was referring to PC anywhere as well (ver 11.5). Same
thing, updates killed it.

That's odd. Reggie may be able to give you tips on PC Anywhere. I tend to
use Netmeeting, and that's work-in-progress at the moment (only works
outwardly)

But there was an interesting post in a similar thread a couple of days ago,
which I've not tried yet, but sounds promising regarding alternative
software called Logmein.....

Solutions for Vista Home Premium remote access?

Actually this is to admin some PCs that already have PC anywhere
installed and config, so I just wanted to be able to use the client.
Just so silly, it worked in the betas but forced out in the final. Is
there a way for me to just force the thing to run?

If it were me, I would work out which update killed it, and remove it.
