Can I disassemble a finished presentation.

You can select to save as png or jpeg (or other graphic formats) and it will
save each slide as a picture. In 2003 it's way down the save as list and in
2007 you need to select office button -> save as -> other formats to get to
that list (where it is still way down).

I want to change a slide presentation to single pictures for print.

What happens when you open the file in PowerPoint and do a File, Print (2003
or earlier) or Office Orb, Print (2007) in PowerPoint? You should be able
to print any PowerPoint file (unless it has been protected to prevent
printing) using PowerPoint.

If you want to create individual picture images of the slides for some other
reason than to just print them do what Lucy said.

If you really want to do something else, like prepare handouts there are
ways to do it in PowerPoint and also export to Word. Let us know if this is
what you want to accomplish.
