Can I disable the encryption in a document?

Go back through the same steps you used to encrypt it, and blank out the
password field. Then save the document.

Use the same dialogue you did to encrypt it (Tools > Options > Security tab,
or, on 2007, Office Button > Prepare > Encrypt Document) and clear the
password box.
