Can I create FAT32 partitions from NTFS?

O

OM

I've got Windows 2000 installed.
I have the whole hard drive as an NTFS partition.
I want to create a FAT32 partition so that I can backup the image of
the NTFS and store it there.

I only have access to the laptop by floppy on bootup.
CD ROM is not possible.

Thanks.

Don`t bother to create an Image, on the same drive !.
If the drive `falls over` (dies), your image is gone too.

It can still be useful, being a laptop there is more
difficulty hooking up an alternate backup/restoration source
so if the image is there it will cover windows related
problems at least, then this back can also be put elsewhere
to cover the possible failed-drive issue.

The problem now is that the drive is one NTFS partition.
With partition magic he might boot a floppy, resize the NTFS
partition smaller, create an extended partition and a FAT32
partition in the extended partition. Without partition
magic, he'll need to find another utility that can do same
thing (none come to mind at the moment).

I read from one of the newsletter that ExtremeTech sent me sometime ago.

It teaches you to re-partition your hard disk for free with Knoppix built-in
utility (QTpart I suppose).
