Can I add a Windows XP machine to a Windows 98 network

This is probably going to sound like a dumb question and
I could more than likely get an answer quickly by the old
trial and error, but I don't really have the patience. I
have a new machine that is running Windows XP home
edition. All of the other machines on the network are
running Windows 98 edition. Can I add the XP machine to
this network, or will I have to upgrade all the machines?

You can add the XP machine, without changing anything on the other
