Can files removed by MS AntiSpy be reinstalled?

I did a full scan the other day and MS Antispy found 5 files with the rating
high risk. I followed the recommendation to remove the files and did so.
Foolishly, I did this without reading about what the files were.

Once they were removed, I noticed they were all from a computer game, the
game no longer functions correctly, asking for font files every few minutes.

I know I can uninstall and reinstall the program, but try explaining that to
my son, who has worked so hard building a waterpark.

Next time should I click quarrantine rather than remove?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...

Yes, if you had chosen quarantine instead of remove you would be able to get
the files back.

If you are running Windows XP you may be able to use System Restore to
restore the missing files. I would try that first. If that does not work,
you may need to re-install the application - typically doing so will not
overwrite your saved data files.

This does appear at first glance to be a false positive in Windows Defender.

Some additional investigation here shows that all of the missing files
appear to be the same (65,536 null bytes), and if you take the attached file
and copy it with the same name as the files that were deleted, you should be
back up and running.

If that does not work, let me know.

If you are still using Microsoft Antispyware, beta1, you will be well served
by updating to beta2, whose name is now Windows Defender:

Download and run--it will upgrade the version you have in place. This won't
change what happened, but since you are here, I thought I'd mention it.

Mike Treit has supplied a file which can be used to replace the ones you are
missing. However, if you are connecting via the HTML forum software, this
file won't be accessable to you, I'm afraid. If you'd like to send me email
at (e-mail address removed) I'd be happy to forward his message back to you,
with the replacement file attached.

Thanks for your response Mike, I do not see the file you speak of . And I'm
not sure how to follow your instructions. Assuming I had this file, where
would I copy to?

I am running XP and will try the system restore first.
