Can default tabs be changed in Outlook 2007?

In Outlook 2007, the default tab spacing, 0.5", is way too large for my
tastes. In Outlook 2003 I could modify a template so that my default tab
spacing was set to 0.33". I don't find a way to change the default tab
spacing in Outlook 2007. Anybody know of a trick to do that?
