Can DameWare be stopped??

?: Is there a way to disallow DameWare (or any one application) to be installed, and possibly track the installation ID and host that an installation is attempted from?
 
Where are you concerned it's being installed from? Are you on a network? Do
you have a good firewall between your computer and the Internet?
 
Network=yes, Firewall=yes, but not between internal development team and servers. I didn't mind DW in previous NT4 environment, but in W2k & W2K3, remote connectivity can be addressed via Windows Terminal Services (which is the standard) which can be monitored via event logs. DW reappearing because developers installing applications which are not designed to be installed via Windows Terminal Services.
 
DW is "appearing" on its own? No, someone is installing it. If you can't for
technical reasons block the developers from installing it or other apps on
this server, then take it up with management.
