I was shutting down my Windows XP and got the message "Memory Could
Not Be Read" Ox2011941D. I think this was the code.

What does this mean?

I have Norton Internet Security Suite, Windows 2003 Small Business
Edition (word, excel, powerpoint), Windows XP, and have not been able
to isolate what caused this error.

I have a new Dell Optiplex system (2 months old).

Thanks.

Run a memory testing program for several hours. You may have some bad ram or
something set wrong in the BIOS.

www.memtest.org

If the ram tests OK then post back with more details of the exact error
message.

Most often this message is the result of a programming error, such as
trying to read item #11 from a table that only has 10 items in it.

It if occurs at shutdown and only at shutdown then it can usually be
safely ignored.

Good luck
