I see I will have to be more specific in order to get more information
(relevant to the issue at hand)...

- You have a Dell computer, Core2Duo, 2GB of memory...
- You have *some* version of Windows XP (also assumable - given the
newsgroups you posted in...)
- You are attempting to play a video...

What we do not know:
- Version of Windows XP (Home, Professional, Media Center, Tablet PC, x64,
etc.)
- Service Pack level.
- What player you are attempting to utilize to play whatever type of video
it is you are trying to play from whatever source...
(Media Player 6.4, 9, 10 or 11; QuickTime; RealPlayer; etc and so on...)
(AVI, MPG, TS, MOV, Flash, actual DVD, etc and so on...)
(Local Hard Disk Drive, CD/DVD, Network drive share, Internet Web Page,
USB hard drive, etc and so on...)

Be as detailed as possible. I cannot see your computer screen at this

Sounds like you have something innately wrong with the OS if NONE of those
players work. That is not a problem that would be solved by tweaking a
registry key or something - as all of those players would have different
settings/etc. Could even be a hardware issue (networking comes to mind.)

A lot of suggestions I've come across point to congestion and that is
where my knowledge ends. All I've tried is websites and all do the same
at different times of day. they start a few seconds then it buffers on
my other pc a gateway, slower, lesser hd, worked fine on cbs site for a
tv show when I was not on a network {used to just have access to old
files until I transfer files to new pc}but afterwards this problem. will
try a dvd and see then advise by the way sound is fine it just stops &
buffers and is maddening

Sorry, I did not mean to offend you. Messages are much easier to read if
they are properly cased and punctuated. Consider using sticky keys,
which can be reached through the Accessibility Wizard at
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Accessibility.

As to your problem, it may be a local buffering problem. If you are
using Windows Media Player to play your videos you can change from the
standard default buffering to increase buffering using Tools > Options >
Performance and changing the setting to buffer for a longer time period.
There are other options on this tab that affect performance.

If your two PC's are wireless networked try a hard wire connection from
one of them to your router to see if that makes a difference.
