Im having trouble with my printer. it was working fine and it suddenly
stopped. I have windows xp and a hp psc 1317 series. I decided to
downloaded the software and the drivers so that it is compatible with xp.
The photocopier and scanner work but the printer doesn't.

I have tried unistalling and reainstalling, i have changed the ink cartridge
and i cant think what else i can do.

I need this working as soon as possible im doing a postgrad at uni, and im
ususally superglued to my computer

Thanks in advance for any comments

It's usually the other way round -- people have problems with the scanning.

This is a VISTA Newsgroup -- you are using XP still?

You must install the software before you connect the printer's USB cable to
the PC -- if you did not uninstall everything and start again but do not
connect the USB cable to the PC until the installation tells you to or until
you reach Finish.

I'm confused. Is your operating system Windows XP or Vista? Did you try
System Restore back to a point before the printer started to act up?
Printers can be fussy about installations. Remove the software you
downloaded and installed and start from square one. Follow the HP
installation instructions to the letter! Post back with more information.
Again, it is not clear if your OS is XP or Vista.
