can anyone help me?

i ran a spyware program and somehow created missing links
to my programs. every time i try to run a program
(including system restore) i get a popup that says 'this
file does not have a program associated with it for
performing this action. Create an association in the
folder options control panel'. how do i do that? i don't
want to recover my windows and lose all of my programs.
