Can and then can't connect to net...

ok how do i put this i have adsl,
when i first got it, it was fine everything was working good.
couple days later i couldn't connect anymore so i called up my provider and
they told me the use the proxy so i did and it works but i can't go on
programs like mIRC, online games, kazaa ect ect.
i've alrdy ask my provide what to do and they said to turnm off my firwall
and then try i did that but still not any good.
when i first connected i had firwall on and every thing was perfect so i
don't thik has anything to do with that.
but then couple days later i turn or the proxy and try to auto detect
setting again. and it worked again, for like 3-4 days and then same thing
happen i explain this to my net provider and they told me it's got something
to do with my computer and for mi to go ask for pro help so hear i am.
hear some more details: yes, the connection is connected, my networkcard
detect the modem and all that fine everything is good but just can't connect
even tho it says i'm connected. the only way i can connect is to use the
proxy and i can only use brower explorer and msn. no other net programs.

Hello Sang,
Here are a couple of ideas. Click start then click control panel ,
then click Internet connections.
You should see a diagram of your DSL connection. Click on that then
click status, then click repair.
If you get a message saying Widows found nothing wrong. You need
to call
your DSL provider and have them give you the settings for the proxy server,
Without the proper settings the proxy wil not work properly.
If you use the Auto. dectect option then you could try setting
your home page in the connections box where you turned on the proxy server.
Enter the URL address of your DSL provider and see if you can access that and
maybe other sites besides MSN.
You did not say if you have the Windows firewall on or off. If you
have it on check the exceptions tab and see if it is checked at " Allow
exceptions " and not " No exceptions" . Also run a good anti virus and
spyware check. You might even need to configure your firewall differently.
There are just so many things it could be right now. Keep calling your DSL
provider sooner or later someone will help you.
