Can activesync backup program files to PC?

I am building an app that runs on WM. Users are creating data on the mobile
device. Is it possible to give users an option to back this data up onto
their PCs using the ActiveSync connection? Thanks.

Yes use the Backup\Restore feature under the Tools menu in ActiveSync 4.2 and
onwards. You can also use sync (files) option.

I'm using ActiveSynd 4.2, build 4876, and I can find no backup\restore
feature under tools. I'll look for a later AS version.

Backup/restore is gone for use with devices later than Windows Mobile 2003.
That is, if you have a Pocket PC 2003, say, and you connect it to a PC
running ActiveSync 4.2, it *will* show the backup and restore capabilities,
but if you connect a WM5 device, it will not. This does not reappear in any
released (or announced), ActiveSync version, so grabbing a later version
won't help.
