Can Access 2000 be used as a database to download and retrieve files of a
server? I would like to set up a database where users can enter basic data
into a form and download files or search files in the database and copy them
out. Is this something that is possible in Access and if it is then what is
the easist way to set up the download/upload file option?

Yes and no. The devil is in the details. Could you be more specific.
I am not exactly sure what your needs are. Where is the data coming from,
an Access database? What tools are the users using, Access? Where does new
and updated data come from and what forms and how much automation will the
users need?
