Can 9800 Pro record from vcr?

I have my 9800Pro s-video out connected to the s-video of my Sony TV. The
TV rgb is connected to my vcr. Is the s-video link 2-way and therefore can
I record to hard disk using software?

You require a VIVO card for that.

Unless you bought a Video In Video Out (VIVO) model, no.
You will need a capture card of some sort.

No - the S-video is OUT only.

Thanks to all. My Sony vcr only has scart output to my Sony TV. Will the
s-video socket on the Sony TV be able to OUTPUT to an S-video input on a
capture card?

That would depend on your TV... can the S-Video be an output?

You can convert from scart to s-video, also. SO if the TV output is
scart, thats should be ok.
