Can 2007 be installed on two computers?

I have a PC & just got a laptop for travel. I got my home PC in 2005 &
because I am not good with computers someone from work helped me set-up
Outlook Express which I use for all my company emails. In 2006 I needed
Excel so I installed the Upgrade version of Office Standard 2003, but never
used the Outlook that came with it simply because I didn't know how to
convert from Express.

Last week I got a laptop that will travel. Should I purchase the Full
Version of Office Standard 2007 and install it on both the PC & the laptop?
Will I be able to have complete use of my Outlook emails from both computer
systems? Can a Full Vesion 2007 be installed on top of an existing 2003?

That's certainy acceptable use. Normally, the EULA gives you the right to
install Office on one desktop and one laptop, provided their primary user is
you.

What do you mean by "complete use"? Do you mean that you want all your mail
on both machines? You can configure each to download the messages so they
exist in both places, but changing something on one won't mean that the
other reflects that change unless you use Exchange and not a PST, unless you
take pains to synchronize the two.

It's best (required?) to uninstall Outlook 2003 prior to installing Outlook
2007. It's also best to start with a new mail profile after installing.

Thank you for taking the time to try and help me. By "complete use" I
really just mean that I need to be able to instantly receive my Outlook
emails on either the PC or the laptop and I need to be able to respond to
those emails instantly from either computer system. Really that is all I use
my current Outlook Express for (company emails). I am the only user on the
PC & the laptop.

As for having to confugure each to download the message so it exists on both
places, I wouldn't know how to do that. And I don't understand what it means
to use Exchange and not PST.

I was hoping that it was just as simple as installing the Full Version of
Office Standard 2007 on both the PC & the laptop to get my Outlook emails no
matter which system I was using. For someone with such little understanding
of computers, where would you suggest I go for help.... 101... ?

By default, when you install Outlook and configure it for receiving from a
POP account, Outlook will remove the incoming messages from the server.
Outlook Express behaves this way as well. The solution is to, while
configuring the account, configure it to leave copies of messages on the
server for some period of time. This will allow both Outlooks to see all
the messages.
