New camera software install for transferring Pictures from camera to PC.
No listing in supplied FinePixViewer or My Computer of camera as mass media
storage / removable drive.
Fujifilm A345 New, FinePixViewer updated from Web = Ver 5.0
Win XP 512 MB mem, 30 GB free on HD
Devices manager displays identified Fujifilm under Disk drives as USB mass
storage device while connected. Proper removal on disconnect, automatically
re-appears in device manager when re-connected.
Removed software and rebooted, reinstalled software w/o device connected.
Latest drivers downloaded and installed. Device manager reports device
working properly.
Reconnected same problem. Cannot view or transfer pictures.
Any ideas

My first thought would be to contact those who made the camera/software and
ask them for assistance.
My second would be to rearrange your driver letters so that your permanently
attached drives (other than hard drives) are using higher letters - like X,
Y and Z. Reboot and reconnect your camera. Sometimes a device just insists
on being G or below.

Bingo! ! !
Since “G:†is used for a logical network drive for a financial package
written in dBASE I disconnected a cd drive first. N luck. This XP is running
2 HD and 2 cd drives putting “G†as the next available drive letter.
Then I disconnected the network drive “G†and the camera appeared.
