Camera Not Recognized

I have a digital camera which I use on occasion for work purposes. When I
plug the camera into an available USB port, it appears to recognize the
camera since I can see it show up in device manager but a drive letter
doesn't get mapped and is visible in Windows Explorer so I can't get the
images out of the camera. I also hear the USB audible sounds indicating it
has recognized a USB device. I have tried unloading and re-loading the driver
but that doesn't seem to help. All indications from Device Manager indicate
the driver is installed and working properly. Here are the specifics on my
camera and PC.

The camera is a Minolta Maxxum 7D with USB 2 interface. The camera is
recognized without issue on my personal home XP desktop system.

The PC is a Dell Latitude D600 laptop with XP SP2 installed. Updated last
week with all current critical fixes. There is also a docking station for the
laptop which it runs in most of the time. I have tried connecting the camera
with and without the docking station but that doesn't make a difference.

Any help in getting this fixed would be appreciated.

It's probably trying to use a drive letter that already being used. Try
reassigning the drive letter in Disk Management. Start|Run|diskmgmt.msc

Thanks Dave, That did the trick. It was trying to use the D drive which was
already mapped to a network share. After using disk management to change the
drive letter to Y, everything started working. Now when I turn the camera on
it continues to use the Y drive.

Thanks so much for your help.
