Camera, MP3 player, etc. not recognized

Suddenly, my USB mass storage devices are not showing up on My Computer.
This includes items directly plugged into the MB and also those on my hub.
My camera is recognized by Adobe Photoshop Elements, and I get a balloon
message about new hardware when I change the port the camera connects to,
but that is all. The Windows box that usually opens and asks me what I want
to do (view pictures, listen to music, etc) does not open anymore. I only
have drives A, C and D, not the E through J that I used to have.

What has happened? Did I accidentally tell the computer not to ask me again?
How can I correct this? And what is that box that asks me what I want to do
called?

Once plugged in, you can go into my computer and you should see your
devices as a removable drive, and yes by the sounds of it; windows just
isnt prompting you anymore when a new device is attached. you can right
click in that balloon and select properties theres probablyan option in
there to turn notifications back on.

What I meant by the above is that I went into My Computer and the above was
true. Wondering why Windows cannot see my USB mass storage devices? My USB
printer works just fine.
 
Any idea how you fixed it? I am having the same problem. Camera and flash
drive, when plugged in are not showing up in My Computer.
