camcording to computer

i never did this before so i need any help i can get .
after i get done taping on my camcorder what do i do to put what i taped
onto a dvd cd? thanks.
im using windows xp

Papa John has several books on this and you can see his website at
www.papajohn.org which will explain everything in far more detail, but to
summarize:

Connect camcorder to PC via firewire cable. Turn camcorder on. Capture
footage in Movie Maker and edit. Save edited file to your hard drive in
DV-AVI format. Use third party DVD burning software such as Sonic, Roxio,
Nero or Cyberlink to burn to a DVD.
