I have decided to stop using Microsoft Outlook 2007 and have gone back to
using Windows mail in Vista. Is it at all possible to import my "calendar"
from Outlook into Windows calendar? The format that I can export calendar
from Outlook does not appear to be compatible with Windows calendar in
Windows mail.

Response will be appreciated.

Julsie,

I had to look it up. Apparently exporting your Outlook calendar to the
iCalendar format that Windows Mail uses is done by saving the information
into the iCal file format, not by using Outlook's Import/Export Wizard.

Thank you for your reply. I realise that I need to save them in the other
format, but my problem is how do I save the calendar from Outlook into iCal
format. If I knew how to do that I would not have a problem. I look forward
to your response.

Julsie,

Open your Outlook 2007 Calendar.
On the Menu Bar, choose File, then Save As.
In the "File name" box, enter a name for the file. (I think it defaults to
"MyCalendar")
In the "Save as type" box, choose "iCalendar Format (*.ics)"
Before you click Save, look at your address bar and make a note of which
folder you're saving the *.ics file to.

Now got to Windows Calendar and import that *.ics file.

Please let us know if your recurring appointments are still recurring once
you've imported them into Windows Calendar.

Brian

Thank you so much. It worked perfectly although it took me a few tries before
I realised exactly what I needed to export.

The recurring appointments have entered correctly and I'm delighted.

Once more, thank you feel help.
