Hi,

My group shares calendars so that we can keep up with each other's
vacation times. My boss has a master calendar in which we all have
"author" permissions. Each of us can add/update our own stuff on
his calendar, but nobody can change anyone else's (except my boss, of
course).

One thing we can't figure out is how we could have our names appear
in the calendar along with the event. Put another way, if I add a new
event to the master calendar, I can't just put "Vacation" in the
Subject field, I have to add my name as well. Otherwise, nobody knows
who is on vacation. Is there any way to have our names auto-magically
added to a calendar item? If not, is there any way to figure out who
input a particular entry instead?

TIA,
-T

PS - extra points if you can tell us how we can translate emails into
automatic shared calendar updates. We get automated emails for
vacation authorization, so we're wondering if that's possible too ;-)

No. It would have to be done individually by each person adding an item to
the calendar.

If someone forgets, it would be easy to find out if you have the appropriate
permissions to display that calendar by category and then add the "changed
by" field from the All Mail Fields under Field Chooser.
