Calendar duplication

C

Confused

Hi, user had a mailbox problem with his calendar. Now he has 2 calendars, 1-
holds all his meetings et al but this is not reflected in the TODO bar, 2-
holds only new items but is refelected in the TODO bar.

User want to select all the old calendar items and 'copy to...' but is
concerned that he may lose information on the transfer.

Please advise a) any danger of info getting lost [after all we are only
doing a copy so the original should still stay the same] b) where is the
calendar info kept? [I figure all in the exchange database, but I never seen a
duplicated calendar before].

Thanks,

Hi, user had a mailbox problem with his calendar.

Usually one asks calendar questions in microsoft.public.outlook.calendaring
Now he has 2 calendars, 1-
holds all his meetings et al but this is not reflected in the TODO bar, 2-
holds only new items but is refelected in the TODO bar.

The To Do bar will show you the default calendar only. He has his active
events in a non-default calendar.
User want to select all the old calendar items and 'copy to...' but is
concerned that he may lose information on the transfer.

No need to fear. Display the old calendar in a table view like By Category.
Select all the events with Ctrl-A and click Edit>Copy (or Move) to Folder.
Specify the default Calendar as the destination.
Please advise a) any danger of info getting lost [after all we are only
doing a copy so the original should still stay the same]

With Outlook closed, make a copy of any PST listed in File>Data Files
Management, Tools>Account Settings>Data Files, or Control Panel>Mail>Data
Files
b) where is the calendar info kept? [I figure all in the exchange
database,but I never seen a
duplicated calendar before].

Sounds like he has one calendar in the mailbox and one calendar in a PST.
Only he can tell which is which. Tools>Account Settings>Data Files will
indicate which data store is the default. If he has an Exchnage mailbox
there, it should be chosen as the default.
