Calendar 2007 Views

Is there a way to turn off the time grid in 2007?
I would like to get the same weekly view as 2003, as I schedule and must
keep track of the appointments for over 500 people, and in 2003 it would show
the day as a block with all the appointment info lined out. With 2007, i have
to mouse over each individual appt in order to see the info, which takes
waaaay too much time. I would like the views the same as in 2003 so that I
can see what's going on on a given day at a glance, and 2007's exploded
time-grid view w/multiple appts just stacked on top of each other just aint
cuttin it.

if that is the only thing you use in outlook, then for you, its useless. But
for many others the calendar overlay more than makes up for the loss of the
planner view.

I don't think that Outlook 2007 is useless, but I really do wish that that I
could use the old weekly view rather than the time grid. Diane, please take
this as feedback for updated versions or perhaps a service pack release:

Bring back the Weekly View where you could see 7 days laid out with three on
the left and four on the right.

While I doubt that I would really get an answer to this, is there an
explanation as to why it was removed and is no longer available? Don't many
successful paper calendars come in this format?

The way I understand it, the To-Do bar necessitated the removal of the
"7-Week" view. In the new Week view, the To-Do bar is positioned along the
bottom with the items in it appearing in the columns to which they apply.
Since the "7-Week" view doesn't allow that positioning, it was abandoned.

The view was removed because it was incompatible with the overlay feature.
At most we might see a 1 week grid with no time scale - 7 days across the
view, a 1 week version of the 2wk view in the tutorial. A few weeks ago I
had the chance to visit with the outlook product team and I made sure they
understand the problem - but since I'm not an MS employee, there is little
else I can do.

It's really best for users to open a support incident - that will help them
scope out the number of users affected by the change.
