Printing 10 minute appointments

M

MichaelS

When using Outlook 2003 we used the week view to schedule appointments. We
took them in 10 minute segments. We then could print the schedule just like
it looked on the screen.
In 2007, outlook will not print 10 minute slots. It creates bubbles that are
staggered in 15 minutes/appt view.
The calendar assistant is of no help. It cuts off the work day at 5 PM. It
appears that for those who want to use 2007 for an appointment scheduler it
is a major step backward. Any hope? Am I missing something?

You used the 2 column planner view to print? There is an update that adds
an improved version back to outlook 2007.

What time scale is shown on the screen? You need to set it for 10 min. See
http://www.slipstick.com/problems/print15min.asp - there are tools there
that may do a better job.

We use the one column.
It shows the appointment in 10 minutes on the screen. It always shows 15
minutes in the previews.
Where is the update. I have downloaded every update that I can find. It does
not work.

A new weekly print style is available for the Outlook 2007 calendar
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/974411/

From http://www.slipstick.com/problems/print15min.asp - note the last
sentence.
"Unfortunately the cost for this extra space comes from the number of hours
you can include in a printout at each time interval. If you're used to
printing 12 hours at 15 minute intervals, you'll need to reduce the hours
printed to no more than 8 1/2 hours. For 10 minute appointments include no
more than 5 1/2 hours, 3 1/2 hours for 6 minute spans, and 2 1/2 hours for a
5 minute interval. "

with the hours to print set at 5.5 (9-2:30) I get this:
http://xsolive.com/Outlook Screen shots/Forms/DispForm.aspx?ID=115

If you need to print a full day you'll need to print twice - one for
morning, one for afternoon. Setting Outlook to use half paper won't work
but setting your printer to print 2 pages per sheet will save paper. You
can also use longer paper - 11x14 will include at least 9-5.
