calculation in forms

hi
I have a large DB and the user will enter the values in the fields
(1st form) and at the end of the day, there is another form (2nd) will
get and compute all the values, calculate the diff fields to get the
total.

e.g: Location
4 --> school
2 --> home
5 --> others

the 1nd form will compute the values and display the values and
percentage and total.

I am not too sure how to link both, and able the 2nd form to get the
values from the 1st.

Hope u can get wat i meant.
any help is appreciated

Iassume that the 1st form is storing values in a table and that the 2nd
form, for some reason, takes those values and stores them somewhere
else (different table?). Generally, it's not advisable to store
calculated value, rather to do the calculations when reporting them out
or using them. If, however, you need to store calculated values, why
not have the second form find the data from the 1st form's table,
rather than from the form itself? Am I missing something about your
question?

Anyway, like gilbert said, you should have some table that the 1st form
stores records of the user entered data, and then the 2nd form can
query that table to get the data.

Maybe i not too sure how to explain it. Ok.

(1) The 1st form: the user will type in the values in the fields or
choose an option from pull down list and hit the enter key. This will
store in the DB. Then the 2nd form will have textfield which display
the values. (for stat uses). But what i am not too sure is how to do
this function in access DB.

In the 2nd form,I did tried to right click on the textfield and look
at its properties, but not too sure if i can do the function there.

(1)i think of an idea that’s to enter "=[the textfield name in
form1]" in the data source properties of the field in form2
is it alright for me to do this?

(2)What i mainly have in form1 are drop down lists, user will chose
the option and submit. Then the program will calculate how many users
submit optionA, how many users submit optionB and so on. Then form2
will display out the stat. is there any way to do this?
