CA Antivirus 2007 Installation Problems

I purchased the CA Anti-Virus 2007 CD through Amazon. I tried to
install it today on my HP Pavilion Slimline s 7620n PC, with comcast
cable internet, but so far have not been able to get it completed. I
have spent several hours on this today. I see absolutely no way to get
any actual support for this problem, as the site seems to only have a
limited FAQ, but when I click on "Anti-Virus Real-Time protetion off",
or the "email" link, I am asked to log in again, using an ID, which I
don't have (if it is different from my email address), so I use my
email address that I used to register with, and then get an
"exception" error.

It took me over an hour to install the first time, although I could
see messages saying something like 'package failed to dowload' several
times. I uninstalled the program, and tried starting all over again,
but the problem still remains.

The program appears to be partially installed, but it is impossible to
get the downloads from the CA servers needed to complete the
installment. If I try to enable the "Real-Time Protection" or "Email
Protection", I get a message saying: "An error was encountered while
trying to secure your system. Please try a product update to make sure
you have all required files." The problem is that after spending about
20 to 30 minutes at trying to download "Anti-Virus Data Update", it
either just stops responding altogether, except the last time it gave
me a message: "A package failed to dowload successfully. Please try
again later." According to the log, several errors keep recurring. It
would help if there was someone as CA I could contact about this, but
evidently there isn't, I seem to be to cut off from any help at the
"Technical Support for CA Anti-Virus 2007". So I am posting this here.
Does anyone know how I can get this installed completely, or how I can
get help from CA Technical Support?

The only good thing I can say about CA AV support was that they DID
return my money without any complaint, via a simple email to billing.
Since you went through Amazon, I guess you'd have to deal with them
rather than CA directly, though.

(I had used it since it was freebie about 5 years ago, but had to give
up when ver 7x started crashing a new XP machine).

Sorry I don't have any good news.

after you solved your problem with your SIG-delimiter (see my THX-
posting), now further please shorten your SIG-lines to max. usual ~ 4
lines and shorten unnecesary quoting lines in your repostings as far as
possible - and you will be perfect.

I purchased the CA Anti-Virus 2007 CD through Amazon. I tried to
install it today on my HP Pavilion Slimline s 7620n PC, with comcast
cable internet, but so far have not been able to get it completed. I
have spent several hours on this today. I see absolutely no way to get
any actual support for this problem, as the site seems to only have a
limited FAQ, but when I click on "Anti-Virus Real-Time protetion off",
or the "email" link, I am asked to log in again, using an ID, which I
don't have (if it is different from my email address), so I use my
email address that I used to register with, and then get an
"exception" error.

It took me over an hour to install the first time, although I could
see messages saying something like 'package failed to dowload' several
times. I uninstalled the program, and tried starting all over again,
but the problem still remains.

The program appears to be partially installed, but it is impossible to
get the downloads from the CA servers needed to complete the
installment. If I try to enable the "Real-Time Protection" or "Email
Protection", I get a message saying: "An error was encountered while
trying to secure your system. Please try a product update to make sure
you have all required files." The problem is that after spending about
20 to 30 minutes at trying to download "Anti-Virus Data Update", it
either just stops responding altogether, except the last time it gave
me a message: "A package failed to dowload successfully. Please try
again later." According to the log, several errors keep recurring. It
would help if there was someone as CA I could contact about this, but
evidently there isn't, I seem to be to cut off from any help at the
"Technical Support for CA Anti-Virus 2007". So I am posting this here.
Does anyone know how I can get this installed completely, or how I can
get help from CA Technical Support?
