C0000218 Unknown Hard Error

I'm having this error while trying to install a fresh copy
of win XP Pro on my laptop. I've read the knowledge base,
and it says that it could be the registry is full.... it's
pretty absurd 'coz I'm installing a fresh copy onto a
formatted hard disk.

Any help here would be extremely welcomed as I need to use
my laptop and I don't have any OS for it at the moment.

Try installing xp cd,boot to cd on restarting computer,select,install xp
new copy,xp will reformat the hd auto. then install.
