Yes, I am replying to my own message, just in case any of
you have had this problem. I turned off my RAID
controller and borrowed a hard drive from someone else's
machine. Works fine. Now I have to figure out if the
RAID controller or one of the hard drives is behind the
malfunction. Will let you know when I know.
