Hello, I need help on fixing C: WINDOWS\....SYSTEM file corruption, to
recover it on recovery console.
I know the commands and everything but I can't get the access to C: WINDOWS
(Number 1) on Recovery console. I have C: WINXP (Number 2) on recovery
console that has no password.

so I can log on to C: WINXP and do the Security level change to 1 and
regedit trick that makes Recovery console not to ask for any password, so I
did but it is still asking me for C: WINDOWS password, Does anyone know how
to get access to C: WINDOWS in recovery console without password please?

by the way I never set up a password so I do not know the password.

PLease help, Without reformatting, I got a really really important document
in there and my job is at risk!

The recovery console asks for an administrator account password, not a
folder password.

If you really just need to recover data, this is very simple, and just takes
another XP system and an external USB2 drive connector or case ($20).
Remove the non-booting drive, attach it to the drive case, attach that to
the other XP system. Copy the data off. At most, you may need to Change
Ownership.

After you have the data that you need, you can play with removing the
passwords to get at the Windows install.
