Some time ago I had a crash due to bad memory and the computer stored my ram
(2gb) in C:/ Pagefile.sys. Is there anyway of clearing this to free up the
2gb's. TIA

The pagefile.sys is self maintaining. Unless you are worried about security
(someone looking within to see what is there), I wouldn't worry about it.

I would just like to clear 2Gb's on my hard drive. Thanks for the quick
reply.

You are saying that you don't want to use a pagefile, which is the default
system configuration? That is not recommended.

Hi, anon, I recently read, reducing the pagefile size to "0" restart and
reset to the old value, should do it.
Hope that helps,
Gerry

That's not what he's saying at all. Go back and read the
original post AGAIN

Sorry but I doubt what you're saying is true. You may
think that after the crash that Windows saved the contents
of your RAM to a file called Pagefile.sys but that is NOT
pagefile.sys's function.

He wants to CLEAR ir to free up 2 gig of space. The only way to do that is
to stop using it, set it to zero - nothing. NOT RECOMMENDED!
