I have a strange problem with my Windows 2000 pro PC, while using it
the pc crashed and i had to reboot it. Now when i log in (using any
login including admin) first of all i get a message about a temp page
file been created as it cant find mine, then when you double click the
C drive you get a message that says c:\ is not accessable - access is
denied and you cant browse it, the pc appears to be working fine all
applications i have tried run ok. I just cant browse the C drive,
when i go into disk manager it says C is Healthy but wont even let me
view it from there, it shows its correct size of 19Gb, if i try a
scandisk it picks up as 0Gb and wont run...ok ive tried various things
and dont really want to reformat if i can help it so any ideas people
? I do have a upto date antivirus running, or did have before the
crash, this now wont start up !

Any ideas ?

Duncan

If you can open a command prompt, try the following command.

cacls c:\ /e /g everyone:F
