C: Drive/Reader is not working

When I put a cd in the reader, it does nothing, it does not say anything, it
does nothing, so I am not able to download or use the restore disk for my
Toshiba Lap Top

Sounds like the laser has died If there is no change after using a CD
cleaning kit, you'll have to have the optical drive replaced at the local
Toshiba Service Center

Can you open anything on the CD using Explorer, or are yoiu relying on the
'auto-start' function to open it? If yoiu are, maybe you need to re-enable
'auto-start' for the drive.
