Bypass login during XP bootup

Recently updated windows xp pro via MS update page. Now
when my computer reboots, it stops at a login page
instead of booting directly to my desktop as it always
did. I made sure I did not have a password set. I have
searched and searched to no avail. Can you help me? I
would surely appreciate any advice you give me to bypass
this most aggrivating step in rebooting my machine..
