Bypass "garbage can" when deleting?

Is there a way to delete an item in Outlook in such a way as to bypass it
going into the deleted items folder? I say this because I actually keep
deleted items for several months, but the sheer amount of spam coming into
my Junk mail folder means the garbage folder is getting huge. So can I
bypass that with some sort of a key shortcut when I delete junk mail?
