buttons don't appear in taskbar??

I have a problem with windows xp. When I am running programs, they never
appear on the taskbar, even if minimized. Which means if I do minimize them,
I have to use the task manager to find them. The taskbar never has anything
on it and I don't know why.

Repair the Taskbar manually. See David's post here:
